The Peddinghaus French Pattern Hammers have an offset pein so that the center of gravity is not directly over the center of the face. These hammers have a square flat face on the other side. The large square faces on the Peddinghaus hammers give you more surface for drawing. Use the cross pein to stretch the metal in a particular direction. This hammer is 800 grams, or 1.8 pounds.

	Beautiful shaping hammer
This hammer is the most used tool in my shop. I do nearly all my shape hammering with it. I move material with the Centaur H133 basic hammer. This hammer is a bit light for drawing out 3/8 or 1/2 rod, but finishing with it is a dream. The large flat square face is closer to the handle than most and works very well for curling ends and peening large dents on rounded surfaces. Great buy for the price much like the centaur H133.
