Durasole is the most effective sole toughener in the industry. Designed to strengthen the exfoliating sole and frog of the equine foot, Durasole works by chemically crosslinking proteins in the hoof tissue to form a natural, living pad. Unlike oil-based dressings, Durasole thickens and swells cell membranes at the molecular level—enhancing structural integrity without affecting the moisture balance of the hoof. Ideal for barefoot transitions, thrush control, or horses working over rugged terrain, Durasole delivers unparalleled support with just a few drops.

The Science Behind Durasole:
Durasole is powered by formaldehyde, which forms methylene bridges between lysine and glutamine side chains on collagen protein structures in the exfoliating sole and frog. This crosslinking process increases density, strength, and flexibility at the cellular level—creating a “living pad” without coating or drying the hoof. Gentian violet and povidone-iodine add antifungal and antibacterial benefits, making Durasole effective in the treatment of thrush and white line disease.
Trusted Since 1978:
Durasole has been used on race tracks, show rings, eventing courses, endurance trails, and rodeo circuits around the world. Its non-oil-based, aldehyde-rich formula allows extended use—even on chronically thin-soled horses—without compromising hoof moisture. Family owned and operated since 1978, Durasole is distributed through top veterinary and farrier suppliers worldwide.
