The Hoof Doc hoof dryer is used to dry excessively wet, mushy, soggy, or waterlogged hooves. It can be used to prepare hooves for medications, dressings, sealants, wall repairs, extensions, glue on shoes, arch supports, or pads.
“The hoof dryer works well after shockwave therapy to dry out the hoof so the shoe and pad can be put on a dry foot. It also is used to aid in the drying of the hoof before and after medication has been placed on the hoof. It works well in conjunction with medication for the treatment of thrush. It helps in hoof repairs also. If the hoof is wet or “waterlogged” the hoof wall repairs will not stick and repair will fail.
The hoof dryer allows you to repair the hoof wall with a dry foot. One needs to continue using the hoof dryer daily to keep the wall repair dry especially if the horse is getting bathed daily. The hoof dryer can be used on normal horse’s feet if they are in a lot of water or getting bathed daily to keep the feet from getting too soft. By doing this you keep a normal hoof.”
